Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments used to add volume, provide support, and adjust facial shape. They can be used to replace volume that has changed over time or to support certain areas of the face.

How and where filler is used depends on each person’s facial structure and goals.

PLUMP SIGNATURE LIPS

At Plump, Lip filler treatments are customized based on lip anatomy and desired outcome, with options ranging from subtle enhancement to more defined shape and structure.

What to Expect

Your lip filler appointment begins with a consultation

During this time, we:

  • Assess your natural lip anatomy

  • Discuss your goals and preferred aesthetic

  • Create a personalized treatment plan based on your anatomy & desired outcome

  • Review expectations, healing timeline, and long-term maintenance

If you’ve received filler from another clinic, please either schedule a standalone consultation or email clear photos of your lips to info@plumpmedspa.com prior to booking any lip filler appointment.

Facial Balancing

Facial balancing is a comprehensive dermal filler approach that evaluates the face as a whole rather than treating a single area in isolation. Treatment begins with an in-depth assessment of facial structure, volume distribution, and movement to determine where support or volume should be placed.

Because the face functions as an integrated system, facial balancing involves treating multiple areas to support proportion, structure, and overall harmony.

Ultrasound in Aesthetic Medicine

Ultrasound is a diagnostic imaging tool that allows real-time visualization beneath the skin. In aesthetic medicine, it provides insight into anatomy that cannot be seen externally, including blood vessels, tissue layers, and the location of existing filler.

At Plump, ultrasound is used selectively as part of informed, anatomy-driven care when additional clarity is clinically useful.

Ultrasound and Patient Safety

Ultrasound may be used as part of the assessment and management of filler-related concerns.  When appropriate, it allows clinicians to better understand what is occurring beneath the skin and to guide next steps with greater anatomical clarity.

This supports a more measured approach to care by reducing reliance on assumption when  complexity is present.

Clinical Use of Ultrasound

Injectable treatments rely on precise anatomical understanding. While surface landmarks and experience guide most care, anatomy can vary significantly between individuals.

Ultrasound can assist with:

  • Visualizing underlying anatomy that differs from surface appearance

  • Identifying the location of previously placed filler

  • Supporting assessment when concerns arise

  • Informing decision-making in more complex or higher-risk situations. Its role is to add information when standard assessment alone is not sufficient.

Equipment Used

Plump uses a Mindray TE5 diagnostic ultrasound system. The Mindray TE5 is a medical-grade ultrasound platform designed for use in a range of clinical settings, offering high-resolution imaging and advanced visualization capabilities.

The system is used as an adjunct to clinical judgment when ultrasound imaging is indicated.

When Ultrasound Is Used

Ultrasound is not required for every injectable treatment. Its use is determined on a case-by-case basis based on patient history, anatomy, and clinical considerations.

It is one of several tools used to support thoughtful planning, informed decision-making, and patient safety.

A Deliberate Approach

Technology does not replace experience. Ultrasound is used to support careful, anatomy-focused care when additional information is helpful.

Its use reflects a broader commitment to restraint, clarity, and prioritizing patient safety over routine or speed.
